Women’s Tri Suit
The Team Ireland tri suits are based on the Zone3 Aeroforce range which is performance orientated garment designed for international standard athletes.
All of our fabrics are made by the highest quality sports manufacturer in Italy. The fabrics on these suits have been changed over the last year based on the feedback from the TI team. The suits are now made of the following:
1. Atlanta is a technologically state-of-the-art fabric characterised by a finish that ensures maximum athletic results at the competitive level. The presence of the Xtra Life LYCRA® fibre, guarantees resistance to chlorine and lasting shape-retention. Atlanta ensures perfect adherence to the body and an excellent fit. Atlanta has even exceeded the requirements of the innovative LYCRA® Sport programme: it reduces muscular vibrations, decreasing muscle fatigue and improving the athlete’s performance. Atlanta is resistant to UV rays (UPF 50+), pilling, heavy use and abrasion. This is the black coloured fabric you can see in the designs.
2. Igloo is new techno fabric in super opaque white polyester designed to envelope and protect the athlete’s body like a second skin while providing total freedom of movement. The fabric’s innovative structure gives 80% more coverage than a traditional white product of the same weight. The inclusion of Xtra Life LYCRA® ensures exceptional resistance to chlorine, perfect fit and no shape-loss over time. This is the white fabric you can see in the designs
3. Malaga is very similar to Atlanta but with higher stretch characteristics for increased flexibility around the chest. This is the Green fabric.
The tri suits feature the following components:
1. Women specific pad – A made to measure race-specific triathlon pad from Italy. Not too big and not too small. Minimising water absorption and providing vital protection during the cycling phase without impeding your swim or run. Also, fine-line stitching to further reduce any irritation.
2. Upwards back zipper – As directed by ITU regulations the zip on the back also has a cord attached to ensure the zip is not opened during the swim and for extra breathability and ventilation if required during the bike/run. New suits feature a thicker and zip and longer cord.
3. Total Zip protection –The full perimeter of the zip has been stitched with a soft fabric to prevent any sharp edges rubbing against your chest. After testing all zipper protectors we felt that an inside patch, as used by many pro’s, offers the best comfort and performance.
4. White Piping – As a last minute addition we have added an ultra-cool white piping around the arm and neck line to really bring out the Green and also to add extra comfort during the run.
5. Silicone leg grippers – Again after testing a number of different material options we felt the thin silicone band around each leg helps to prevent any movement of the shorts whilst also causing no irritation.
6. Flat locked stitching – Top quality manufacturing from made in Italy. The flat lock stitching is designed for maximum strength and minimum dis-comfort against the skin.
7. Women’s specific fit – designed and tested on female triathletes.
8. No pockets – There no pockets on the back because we don’t want to slow you down! An ideal suit for any sprint or Olympic distance.
